Rick Hinton
CEO

Rick is the CEO of Cogit Analytics. He has over 20 years of experience delivering above-average growth for enterprise software and professional services organizations. Serving in marketing, business development, and product management roles, Rick has worked in the consulting and technology industries including Ernst & Young’s tax consulting practice, a venture-backed startup focused on online investment and financial planning, an internet company delivering political prediction markets, and a leading Microsoft partner focused on cloud-based productivity solutions. Rick received an MBA from the George Washington University and a BA in Government & Politics from the University of Maryland.

James Dameron
CTO

James is the Chief Technology Officer for Cogit. He has over 25 years of experience as a technology professional, most recently as CTO for New Health Analytics. Previously, he was Vice President of Engineering for EnterBridge Technologies. In that role, James was responsible for all aspects of the company’s engineering product development activities and served as a key member of the management team that set the company’s strategic direction. James’ background includes account management, project planning, software architecture, and development, spanning a variety of application needs including healthcare, retail point-of-sale, inventory, banking and supply chain management. James graduated Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.S. in Information Systems and a minor in Psychology.

John Harris
Chief Data Science officer

John is the chief data scientist for Cogit Analytics. He has extensive experience designing and building advanced analytics, machine learning, and other quantitative solutions in supply chain, finance, and healthcare. Previously, he was founder and lead data scientist at Boxelder Analytics, a boutique consultancy specializing in solving predictive, classification, optimization, natural language, and other machine learning problems. He began his professional career as a logistics officer in the United States Marine Corps and served two overseas combat tours: one with a Marine Corps infantry battalion and another as a foreign military advisor. John earned a BA from the University of Virginia and a MBA from the University of North Carolina.

TERRY JONES, PHD., RN

Dr. Terry Jones is Associate Professor, Department of Adult Health and Nursing Systems at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a researcher and educator with over 30 years of nursing experience. Terry completed her baccalaureate nursing degree at Marycrest College in Davenport Iowa in 1985 and then completed the Parkland Hospital Critical Care and Trauma Nurse Internship in Dallas Texas in 1986. Terry received a Master of Science degree from Texas Women’s University in 1990 with a clinical focus in adult health and a role focus in education. Terry received a PhD from The University of Texas at Austin in 2004 and participated in the NIH-funded Clinical Scholar Program at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas from 2007-2010. She has been recognized as one of the Great 100 Nurses in Dallas-Ft. Worth and an outstanding graduate in her doctoral and undergraduate programs.

During her 22-year tenure at Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas, Terry served in a variety of roles including critical care staff, critical care educator, assistant unit manager, critical care education coordinator, director of clinical research, performance improvement, care management, and ultimately interim vice president and chief nursing officer. She is currently an Associate Professor of Nursing, tenure track at Virginia Commonwealth University in the Department of Nursing Administration and Nursing Systems and teaches at both the graduate and doctoral level. Her program of research focuses on improving the nurse work environment and the quality and safety of nursing care across the care continuum. She is currently exploring relationships among work time quality and patient outcomes. Her work on unfinished nursing care is recognized internationally.

Cait Dreisbach
Clinical ADvisor

Cait is the lead clinical advisor and nurse specialist for Cogit Analytics. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Cornell University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) from The Johns Hopkins University. She previously served as an RN Clinician at UVA Medical Center. She is a former presidential fellow with the Data Science Institute and currently is in the dual degree Master’s in Data Science/PhD in Nursing program at the University of Virginia. With her additional training in data science, Cait is interested in the broad use of data mining and machine learning to better understand complex women's health conditions.

LOUIS ROSSITER, PHD.

Lou is Research Professor, Thomas Jefferson Program in Public Policy, The College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, VA. He is the former owner of Chironet (Surgical Outcomes Information Exchange SOIX). He is the author of 14 edited books, 1 sole author book, and over 50 journal publications on health economics and policy. Lou was previously the Secretary of Health and Human Resources for the Commonwealth of Virginia and served as Deputy for Policy to the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). He has served on the Board of Regents of the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, the National Advisory Council of the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and Academy Health. Lou received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his bachelor’s degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University.
